Acceptable Use Policy

Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the OpsCommon platform and related services (the "Service"). This policy supplements our Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
OpsCommon LLC ("OpsCommon," "we," "our," or "us") reserves the right to take enforcement action against any user or organization that violates this policy.
Prohibited Uses
You may not use the Service for any of the following:
- Illegal activity: Any use that violates applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.
- Malware distribution: Uploading, transmitting, or distributing viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious code through the Service.
- Unauthorized access: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service.
- Data scraping: Using automated tools, bots, or scripts to extract, scrape, or harvest data from the Service without prior written authorization.
- Harassment: Using the Service to harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or harm any individual or group.
- Spam: Sending unsolicited bulk messages, chain letters, or any form of spam through the Service.
- Impersonation: Falsely representing your identity or affiliation with any person, organization, or entity.
- Fraud: Using the Service in connection with any fraudulent scheme or to deceive others.
System Abuse
You may not engage in any activity that disrupts, degrades, or interferes with the Service or its underlying infrastructure:
- Rate limit abuse: Intentionally exceeding or circumventing API rate limits or usage quotas.
- Circumventing restrictions: Bypassing, disabling, or otherwise circumventing any security features, access controls, or usage limitations of the Service.
- Denial of service: Launching or facilitating denial-of-service (DoS) or distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks against the Service or any related systems.
- Reverse engineering: Reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise attempting to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Service.
- Resource exhaustion: Intentionally consuming excessive compute, storage, or bandwidth resources in a manner that degrades the Service for other users.
Content Restrictions
You are responsible for all content you upload, create, or share through the Service. You may not use the Service to store, display, or distribute:
- Content that is illegal under applicable law
- Content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets
- Content that contains private or confidential information of third parties without their consent
- Content that promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination against any individual or group
Mapping-Specific Rules
As a collaborative mapping operations platform, the following additional rules apply to your use of mapping features:
- No false emergency data: You must not create, publish, or share map features, markers, or operational data that falsely represent emergencies, hazards, or threats. Creating false emergency information may endanger lives and violate applicable laws.
- No unauthorized surveillance: You must not use the Service to conduct surveillance of individuals without their knowledge and consent, or in violation of applicable privacy laws.
- Accuracy obligations: When creating operational data that may be used by others for decision-making, you should make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of coordinates, routes, and geographic information. Map data and calculations are provided for informational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for critical or safety-related decisions.
- Respect for restricted areas: You must not use the Service to plan or coordinate activities in restricted, prohibited, or sensitive areas in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials
- Notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account
- Ensure that all users within your organization comply with this policy
- Not share accounts between multiple individuals (each user must have their own account)
- Not create accounts using false or misleading information
Organization administrators are responsible for ensuring that all members of their organization adhere to this policy.
Enforcement
OpsCommon may take any of the following actions in response to violations of this policy, at our sole discretion:
- Warning: We may issue a written warning requesting that you cease the violating activity.
- Suspension: We may temporarily suspend your account or access to specific features while we investigate or resolve a violation.
- Termination: We may permanently terminate your account and delete your data for serious or repeated violations.
- Content removal: We may remove or disable access to content that violates this policy.
- Legal action: We may report violations to law enforcement or pursue legal action where appropriate.
The severity of enforcement action will depend on the nature, severity, and frequency of the violation. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the violation before taking action, except in cases where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service, its users, or the public.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
